Privacy Policy
How GhostChat may collect, use, and protect information.
1. Information we may collect
- Profile data: nickname, age, gender, profile ID, and profile status.
- Technical/session data: session token or its hash, expiry and revocation information, and basic server logs needed to operate and secure the service.
- Messages and images: text messages and image files you send may be stored on the server so the chat can deliver them to the other participant.
- Safety information: reports, block records, moderation actions, and related details.
- Location: if you grant browser location permission and the site has location-based features enabled, your device may provide coordinates to support nearby matching. Denying permission should not prevent ordinary use. Verify the deployed code's exact collection and retention behavior.
2. How information is used
Information may be used to create and maintain profiles, authenticate sessions, deliver messages and images, provide location-based features you choose to use, respond to reports, prevent abuse, maintain security, troubleshoot errors, and comply with legal obligations.
3. What other users can see
Other users may see your nickname and the profile details displayed in the interface. Messages and images are shared with the recipient you choose. Do not include your real name, address, workplace, passwords, financial details, or other information you want to keep private.
4. Cookies and sessions
GhostChat may use a browser cookie to keep your profile session active. Blocking or deleting cookies may sign you out or prevent chat features from working. Configure cookie security settings for HTTPS before launch.
5. Sharing and service providers
Information may be processed by the hosting provider, database provider, security/maintenance providers, or other service providers necessary to run the website. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, or secure the service. The operator should list actual providers and any analytics or advertising tools used.
6. Retention and deletion
Information is retained only as long as the operator determines is necessary for the purposes described above, subject to legal and security requirements. Exact retention periods and a profile/message deletion process must be configured and published by the operator. Do not promise automatic deletion or ephemeral storage unless the deployed system truly provides it.
7. Security and limits
We use reasonable measures appropriate to the service, but no website or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. “View Once” is a user-interface feature and cannot prevent screenshots, screen recording, or other capture by a recipient.
8. Your choices and rights
You can choose what to share, deny location permission, stop using the service, and contact the operator to ask about access, correction, or deletion where applicable law provides those rights. Add a working contact channel and a clear process for handling such requests before launch.
9. Children
GhostChat is intended only for adults aged 18 or older. If the operator becomes aware that an underage person has created a profile, appropriate action may be taken to restrict or remove it.
10. Changes
This notice may be updated as the service or legal requirements change. The revised date at the top indicates the latest version.
